PUP Gating System Interchanged

Lack of information dissemination about the interchange of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Main Campus gating system, last July 2009, has brought confusion to the students. Michelle Arsenio, Secretary General- Sentral na Konseho ng Mag-aaral, has stated in an interview, “Wala akong natandaang information na ipinakalat para i-announce na pagpapalitin ang entrance at exit.

The PUP administration has admitted that they weren’t able to give the information prior to the implementation of the changes in the university’s gating system. In a statement given by the Director of the University Administrative Service, Atty. Arceli G. Linatoc , she said that because of the big population of PUP, the information is given on the gate.

She has pointed out that the interchange is part of the security measure of the university. Atty. Linatoc reiterated that the planning of the entrance –exit interchange was made to improve the safety of the students.

The Administrative Services Office also stated that it is not only the students who are needed to adapt to the new gating system, the vehicles should also adapt to the changes being implemented by the university to improve the security of the campus.
